Brooklyn

5 years ago, August 2005 - I was in a relationship and my then boyfriend decided to buy a dog for us. Ophelia was the love of my life... and by December, we had also adopted her brother Jacob. There were no words.

Then of course, we broke up and I left with pieces of my heart and my dog Jacob.

For the past 5 years, I have borrowed so many puppies and babysat all sorts of dogs so that Jacob can have someone to play with. So finally, I decided to take the plunge and welcome Brooklyn to our little family. She is just a little baby right now but one day, I see Jacob and her running through hiking trails together with me in the Californian mountains!

Lots to look forward to! I am excited and feel tremendously blessed. A lot of people told me that 2 dogs is hard and it will be too difficult and threw 100 what ifs at me. What if you lose your job, what if you move, what if you meet a guy with a cat etc... The truth is, it is NEVER a good time to get a dog. You obviously have to be realistic and prepared for what is involved but there is no great time to make these changes unless you want to and look forward to. I love and enjoy having Jacob as a part of my life. We exercise together daily and he has taught be about spiritual success and auras and attitude. Because of him, I have met many work and personal contacts. I know that what I give to Jacob is not comparable to all that he has given to me. I am so excited to see all I can learn from Brooklyn.

The Self Approved person hears all points of views but takes their own advice & knows their dreams are real.

My dream is to be able to buy a house in California or Toronto in 2 years time and have a yard. My dogs will come with me and travel and enjoy every since day of my adventurous life, rain or shine, thick or thin. One day at a time.

HCB 36: Smoothie Lova!

My appetite is really weird during the summer time... so most times I just settle for delicious fruity smoothies!
um... can I just say how much I HATE buying fruit and veggies in this damn country coz it pretty much spoils once it makes contact with your fridge! I bought strawberries barely 2 days ago, opened my fridge this morning and the container looked it was strawberry soup with chunks of strawberries! YUCK!
I threw out majority of the strawberries, but I wasn't about to let my hard earned money that I spent on the fu... um strawberries to go to waste :)

Smoothies are an excellent way to get your fruits and veggies, and I LOVE that you can experiment experiment experiment. FUN!

I was super excited to meet Mark Stoddart! (Live It. Wear It.)
I heard tonnes of great stuff about him and how TALENTED he was from a lot of people, and he's also the mentor of very TALENTED (my fave) graphic designer, Darkie here in Toronto. (darkiemade.com- for those living under a rock... Darkie did Drakes; So far gone and Thank me later album covers)
I was blown away by the Jimi Hendrix pieces, so you know I HAD to get an interview with Mark!

A GOOD, GOOD Night

Lastnight (Thursday), Mona of Lady Luck Entertainment threw one of the craziest parties I've been to in a LONG time at Skybar! Dj Wikked was amaaaaaazing alllll night long!!! There's no need to express any more reasons as to why just know if you weren't there... :(

It's Caribana season and EVERYONE is in the city of Toronto & we're just getting started!

The vibes were legit and the amount of familiar faces was insane... Big thanx for a great night to Ms. Bossy, Cazh, Fresh, R.T! & Kesha!!!

Hot Eats - Harlem

Bella & I decided to go check out Harlem (East Side) Restaurant & Lounge for lunch yesterday, we've heard so much about it... the ambiance, the people, the FOOD! It was delicious, we had a great time... even with bellies full off of sweet potato fries we managed to find space for a Philly Meatloaf Steak sammy (me) & a 'Nice Lady' veggie wrap (Bella).

July= National Ice Cream Month

On a hot summer day what better way to treat yourself than to Ice Cream!!

In celebration of National Ice Cream month, I threw an Ice cream party for some family members and friends, thanks to Breyers. “Thanks Breyers” for the ever so tasty flavours from Breyers NEW Smooth and Dreamy Ice cream line.

I was surprised to see that it was half the fat, and had at least 30 percent fewer calories, than regular Ice Cream. We couldn't’t even tell the difference in taste, so for all consumers, health conscious or not this Ice Cream is for you! There were so many tasty flavours to choose from, but the top favourites amongst the group were, The Mocha Fudge Brownie and The Chocolate Fudge brownie.
