LAMB Trianna

I stopped by the Bloomingdale shoe sale at Beverly Center yesterday and fell in love with the L.A.M.B Trianna.  They are gladiators but done with Gwen Stefani's signature style and attention to detail.  I think her prices $400+ are well worth all it. From all the celeb brands, Gwen and Jessica Simpson are really doing their thing.  LAMB is creative, high quality and detail oriented. Jessica Simpson's shoes are highly creative, quality is good not great and she just keeps pumping them out (as you can see at the Petite Feet Sample Sale).

L.A.M.B. Women's Trianna offers traditional elements that come together in a very unconventional way. It combines the strappy, stud-decorated leather of a modern gladiator with soft, chunky lacings for a dash of nautical chic and a stacked, sculptural wedge for unlimited sex appeal. Dust bag included.

Should I get them?

Party Rock Life

An LA based company with swagger on a thousand trillion! I had the pleasure of meeting Tina & Melinda at Area, one of the hottest clubs in West Hollywood. The club is decadent and reminds me Cheval vibe but the size of Maro in Toronto. Check out their fly style.

They got designer Swine Flu masks! $25 (sold out)

They got paint splattered Huck Finns ($60)

and my fave, Party Rock glasses! ($30)

An LA update

When I thought of LA, I had a single image of how it would be.

well... it IS like this, at the Grove and Beverly Hills and Hollywood but I just don't live there.

LA has many faces. My neighbourhood is MacArthur Park, Wikipedia says its being regentrified... and I might be the first person initiating this social movement. My all time favorite JLo video has come to life. So... all this wishful thinking and now im living it. Kinda hot right, except im Chinese and I have Jacob. This is literally what the neighbourhood I live in is like:

Hands-On 3rd

A lot of people say that I'm a pretty colorful chick. I wear hot pink nail polish, neon accessories and gold banger earrings. When I was strolling along W. 3rd Street in LA I saw some REALLY colorful chicks in the window. No really, they really were chicks! POP FLOCK.

There is also a massive one sitting there on the left.
The chicks are by crochet artist Cheryl Cambras. These happy cute birds were part of a workshop at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in 2008. Cheryl is the artist in residence during the month of June at Hands On 3rd.

Hand-On 3rd is a place that provides real skills & workshops. They teach quilting, sweing, let's get knotty, millinery (straw hats) and crochet. Every month, they have a FREE workshop called Sewing Rebellion. I am definitly going to check out the one of July 19th from 3-7pm. Check back to see what I learn to make!

Hands-On Giving is another free program they have to express gratitude to Iraq War Vets. They will supply materials to create an artists trading card and they art will be given to the men and women who bravely served America. What a great idea!

It's fun, but it's more than a hobby, it's a passion - Norma Schlager

One more angel in heaven

So crazy, I was at the Grove in LA when we first heard the news (on the Blackberry of course). People were gathered in front of TV screens of LA Times and people were CRYING. In tears, it was surreal. He died because of a cocktail of 7 drugs taken incorrectly and cardiac arrest. UCLA cancelled evening classes because of the insane traffic this has caused near that area. MJ is human, and seceptible to death - but his contributions to fashion, music and style will live on forever.

I got this Tweet:

"Aaliyah died on the 25 Micheal Jackson-25 Static Major-25 Left eye-25&JamesBrown-25 Farrah Fawcett-25"

Google search hits went way up with the #died on 25th.

Thriller

Today marks a sad moment for pop music icon fans all over the world. Losing Michael Jackson at the age of only 50 has us all in shock! Michael was the first African American to internationally crossover with such mass appeal!!!
He taught us the moonwalk, Thrilled us to bits & then assured us about Billy Jean! He changed pop music in a way that no one else ever had, doing so with a sequinned glove and black or white fedora. Even I, myself, an 80's baby had an MJ t-shirt since infancy and a Mum who used his records to lull me to sleep. Friends of mine have even purchased both show & transportation tickets for next months first of 50 scheduled sold out shows in London, UK.
Although most recent news of Michael Jackson weren't the utmost in positivity, they could never be enough to side-track all the great memories of fans set in the company of a Michael Jackson track.
HeyDoYou appreciates a great artist, accepts a human being & misses Michael Jackson on behalf of fans for years to come!!!

The King is Dead. Long Live the King.

'King of Pop' Michael Jackson died today at the UCLA Medical Center after he was brought in by paramedics who found him not breathing at his home, according to various reports. Cardiac arrest is the supposed cause, although Jackson had been suffering from other ailments.

I, like so many of you, grew up listening to Michael Jackson. The Christmas album he recorded with his brothers still plays in my house every year. The timeless energy of his songs dominate old and new school jams alike, lending courage to listeners world wide who would dare try to emulate his swag on the dance floor. The Moon Walk. The leg kick. The pop locking. The crotch grab. The scream. The hat throw. The glove. The red leather jacket. The hair. The white socks and black shoes. That infectious smile.

No matter the scandals, no matter the personal issues. No matter how you remember him...The music my friends, 'The Way You Make Me Feel', 'P.Y.T.', 'Billie Jean', 'One More Chance'!!! You know I could easily go on and on, because Mike was a musical genius. Most of us revered him for that and tried not to let his image be blemished by the hordes determined to see him fall from glory. To the haters, I say 'Beat It', so you 'Wanna Be Startin Something'? 'You know I'm Bad' right?! 'Why you wanna trip on me'?

Don't trip. You know he got you open kid. Don't front.

'Rock With You!!!!!!' "Girrrrrl, close your eyes/ Let that rhythm, get into to you/ Don't try to fight it/ There ain't nothin' that you can do/ Relax your mind/ Lay back and groove with mine/ You gotta feel the heat!/ And we can ride the boogie/ Share that beat of luuuuuuv"

Sing it! I know you know the words!

What's your favorite album? Mine has to be Thriller, but how can you really choose?!
Off the Wall is just as Epic!

Here's a list of his albums, dig them up, listen, pay homage to the KING!

* Got to Be There (1972)
* Ben (1972)
* Music and Me (1973)
* Forever, Michael (1975)
* Off the Wall (1979)
* Thriller (1982)
* Bad (1987)
* Dangerous (1991)
* HIStory (1995)
* Invincible (2001)

Earlier this year, Jackson announced his return to live performance with a series of 50 concerts in London, slated to begin July 13.

Rest in peace MJ. But listen up, because the entire world is bumping your music right now!
