The Urban Dictionary defines "vanilla sex"as: Sex that doesn't involve any twists or kinkiness, and no S&M. Basically plain regular sex. Typically sweet and happy and very lovey dovey".
I don't know if I agree with the "typically sweet and happy and very lovey dovey" part. I think "sweet/happy/lovey dovey sex can still be great, especially if it's passionate. But come on, life is short, grab the bull by the horns and just ride!

I've always said that I love learning. No matter how "insignificant" the topic maybe. But let's face it when it comes to sex, you can't help but be curious. Anyway I recently learned about the term Vanilla Sex: what a culture refers to as standard or conventional sexual behaviour. Of course different cultures, subcultures and individuals have different ideas about what constitutes this type of sex, but all ofl their "ideas" have one thing in common. They all identify Vanilla sex as sex that doesn't involve any elements such as BDSM, Kink, or Fetish activities. In English, Unexciting/Boring Sex.

BDSM for those of you that don't know, means: Bondage and Discipline (B&D or BD), Dominance and Submission (D&S), Sadism and Masochism(S&M or SM): These include a WIDE variety of "activities" in which people usually take on complementary, but unequal roles... but we'll talk about that another day *wink wink* I will say however, that these practices fall waaayyy outside of coventional sex activities...
Apparently in the Western world, Vanilla sex is often associated with the missionary position. Hmmm why do people hate on the missionary position? Get up on your reading/experimenting etc, there's tonnes of ways to "spice" it up.

There are tonnes of resources out there to ensure that we maintain that fire/spice/flavor in our love/sex lives. Not to mention the millions of "How to have great sex" articles in top magazines, all giving the same recycled advice lol. I can only conclude that "Vanilla" sex or being "Vanilla" is a "no-no"... *HY!* So how do you feel about Vanilla Sex? Could you handle being in a relationship (whatever the status) with someone that's "Vanilla"? They do say sex isn't everything right...? HA! Or do you need a little flavor in your life?
Could you handle being with someone that found being adventurous in the bedroom unappealing? What if you REALLY REALLY loved them?
