VEGAS RECAP

In Style Chicks:
MAGIC was in the air and all the fashion girls and boys collided at the biannual tradeshow at the LVCC. I was lucky to swing by the Ghostbar at the Palms on Monday for the DIMEPIECE party and then to TAO at the Venetian on Weds as well as TRYST at Wynn that same night and got some Hussy love. All in all, my general impression of the style of dress in Vegas is FLY - girls are just daring, colorful, whimsical and sexy. Check it out, tell me what you think!

Dope things about Vegas:
The monorail takes you between all the hotels along the strip! I saw the lion den at MGM (didnt stick around for the lions tho) and the pirate boat at Treasure Island, the Venice boats at the Venetian, violin rock chicks live at Tao and billions of people. Nice people who enjoy the lights, the economy and numerous jobs, the tourists, the OLD vegas.

Not dope things about Vegas:
Indoor thunderstorm simulation inside the mall - very odd! I will post the youtube link to that shortly. Taxis do NOT stop in Vegas, you can only catch one at major hotels because of the number of accidents and robberies that has happened throughout the year. If you ever want to empathize with a muffin in the oven, go to Vegas midAUG and you will feel the heat like you have never ever felt before. Oh for those of you who use florescent bulbs in your home, please tell someone in VEGAS to stop with the incandescent bulbs already! woah! I bet the energy consumption rate there is INSANELY high

Super Heroes Unite: Young artists depicting unity through diversity in artwork

TORONTO, August 15, 2008 -- DLM Entertainment announced today the debut of the Super Heroes Unite (SHU) project on August 21, 2008 at 8:30 pm in the DLM studios located at 1610 Bloor Street West, Toronto.

Super Heroes Unite is a project created by two Canadian artists, Mark Williams and Joe Bonsu and it involves the creation of superheroes from around the world, placing each superhero in a different country and emphasizing the importance of unity through diversity in their artwork. "This work appeals to everyone and it instils a strong sense of pride for your heritage, but also touches strongly on the idea that diversity enriches our experiences and ultimately unites us," explained the creators of the project.

Super Heroes Unite will be showcasing their artwork and selling a variety of merchandize, featuring the Super Heroes Unite characters, at the launch event scheduled for August 21, 2008. Also, there will be exclusive limited edition pieces for sale on site available for a special price to those in attendance.

For more information about Super Heroes Unite please contact Shawn Cuffie, team leader and CEO of DLM Entertainment at (416) 516-7452.

Goodbye Douchbag, Hello Gentlemen

Pick up the newest H&M magazine (free at all H&M stores) and you will find out that Comme des Garcon x H&M Collection hits stores this November. Very exciting stuff! I loved the article written about the five phenomena this autumn 2008. I will share with you my favourite:

Mr Right
Under a perfect white shirt beats the heart of a knight.
The Gentlemen is back. You will see him striding down the runway...their look is styled down to the smallest detail. Gentlemen's club like the 21 Club in Manhattan are on the upswing and packed full of young people. Being a gentlemen is about being the best man you can be, involves a lot more than just a smart wardrobe, its more an attitude than a look. Rediscovering old school values like prode, intelligence and dignity. It means being satisfied with no less than the perfect jeans, the best tailored white shirt or the sweetest sneakers rather than collecting labels. In short, being a gentleman means shaking off cynicism, being yourself and loving every minute of it. Tweet This

Give Love a Chance

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do
everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stock room. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe,
because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Tweet This
